Here for All Your Self-Care and Well-Being Needs

At Bourne Hill Care, you are at the centre of everything we do. Whether you’re feeling overstretched, navigating emotional challenges, requiring clinical or specialist support, or seeking to enhance your holistic well-being, we are here for you. You don’t have to feel overwhelmed on your own—our tailored approach empowers you to lead your life in wellness.

We specialise in caring for individuals who present with intellectual or cognitive impairments stemming from various conditions. Our clients may have experienced a neurological disorder, acquired a brain injury, or be perceived as neurodivergent, with diagnoses such as autism, ADHD, Tourette’s syndrome, dyscalculia, dyslexia, or other similar conditions. We also welcome individuals who remain undiagnosed but feel they would benefit from our support in caring for their divergence from the neuro majority line.

Alongside neurodivergence, many of our clients may also live with mental health conditions, including depression, dementia, PTSD, or bipolar disorder. These challenges are often accompanied by behaviours that may be perceived as challenging.  Our team is equipped with deescalation techniques to support our clients during these challenging times.

Our clients typically range in age from 18 to 65 years; however, for our Pure Care at Home service, we extend our support to those over 65 years who need specialised home-based care. Each individual we care for undergoes a comprehensive assessment process to ensure they are the right fit for our services and that we are equipped to meet their specific needs in a way that enhances their quality of life.

Speech & Language Specialist
‘Staff showed awareness of strategies and plan to support service user. I was made to feel welcome in the setting and feedback was taken onboard.’ – Speech and Language Therapist visiting client in residential care.
Consultant at Local Hospital
‘I reviewed ‘Client’ yesterday and found her to be not at all herself. Claude-may was very wise in insisting with the A&E doctor that she was not fit for discharge. Bourne Hill not only knows ‘Client’ well but has a robust observation chart in place.’
Queen Square neurologist
Mr LE presented very well and happy….. The manager and main carer appear to have good level of knowledge of his needs and behaviour trend…. I was very please by the PBS inputs provided so they can be included in his neurology notes.’

Clients at the Heart of Everything We Do

At Bourne Hill, we see each person as more than their diagnosis. Our clients' well-being is our number one priority, and we work closely with them to create a care environment where they feel understood, respected, and supported.

Our holistic, compassionate approach helps each client live with dignity and independence, no matter their diagnosis or personal challenges.

Our commitment to client-centred care has positively impacted the lives of many. Here are just a few examples of how we support our clients through personalised care plans and a deep understanding of their needs:

Case Study - Miss Yollanda F.

Miss Yollanda F., a 50-year-old with a neurodegenerative condition, lives in an elderly care home where she was mostly confined to her room, unable to join group activities. Her family sought better opportunities for her and reached out to Bourne Hill Care to explore our residential programmes. Since joining, Miss F. eagerly anticipates her visits. We arrange physiotherapy sessions on-site and support her exercises during each visit. To address emotional challenges and depression common with her condition, we created a personalized escalation and deactivation chart, ensuring she feels understood and supported.Within six weeks, Miss F. transformed from feeling frustrated to initiating conversations, expressing her choices, and actively participating in activities. She has built meaningful relationships with staff and clients, finding joy and belonging. Her family cherishes the 'family feel' at Bourne Hill Care, where Miss F. recently celebrated her best birthday in years!

A few days after the birthday celebration the director of Bourne Hill Care had a missed call from Yollanda’s sister, which generated the text below:
